About this objectFour photographs mounted on a pale pink foolscap card with handwritten annotations in blue ink below. Described from top to bottom, left to right. Top Left: A photograph of two children in a garden, described as "Me and Aunty Dorothy in Kedron St Garden." This is Gwenda Donaldson (nee Laughton b. 1915 d. 2010) and Dorothy Brown (nee Laughton b. 1918 d. 2016) standing in the garden of their parent's house on the corner of Kedron St and Stuckey Road at Clayfield. According to Ian Donaldson, the house was sold for removal c. 1990 and is now townhouses. Top Right: A small picture of a house at Sunnybank with a full verhandah and trees behind. In the foreground a group of people sit on what appears to be a log. The description reads: "The Oasis - Sunnybank" The Oasis was a tea-garden on the site of Helen Mitchell and Kenneth Laughton's original house at Sunnybank, sold in 1917. It is possible the people in the photograph are relatives from the Mitchell and Laughton families and the photo seems to be taken prior to the site's development into tea-gardens in the 1930s. Bottom Left: Studio Portrait of Dorothy Brown (nee Laughton) form Poulse Studio Brisbane. Bottom Right: Studio Portrait of Gwenda Donaldson (nee Laughton) form Poulse Studio Brisbane. The description notes that Gwenda was "probably about 16" so the photo is c. 1931.
